Virginie, Frencj volunteers that is spending two months in our Fonudation with a short EVS, as all French people, is really touched by the terrible event that involved Paris on 13th of November.
She finds here support both in the Fundation and also outside; she decided to write a letter to express her toughts:
A la communion d’une nation, unie par la différence.
Les évènements qui nous touchent peuvent tous être différents, tous être plus ou moins sanglants et terrifiants, mais ces évènements sont ceux qui nous rassemblent tous au même instant. Si la capitale française se meurt dans une apocalypse vulgaire et dévastatrice, rappelez vous que certains pays ne sont pas épargnés à la même heure. Prenons nous les mains, rassemblons nos pensées, faisons que cette foi et cette union combattent ces violences gratuites. Ne laissons pas nos larmes leur donner victoires. Leurs actes sont le fruit de l’extrémisme et l’extrémisme n’a pas sa place parmi notre société, notre humanité. Ils croient en une guerre de religion, mais ce qu’ils défendent est la peur, la violence et la terreur. Ne les laissez pas vous gagner, et combattez armé d’un sourire, accompagné d’un ami étranger, et protégé par la confiance aveugle de notre courage et de l’entraide. Ne cherchez pas en ces terroristes l’empathie et la compassion, car il n’y en a pas.
En mémoire de mes voisins, mes amis, mes collègues, mes compatriotes français et étrangers, à tout ceux qui se sont vus ôter la vie en l’espace d’une minutes de pure terreur, à ceux qui ont vécu le pire, le traumatisme et la douleur, soyez forts, nous le sommes pour vous. Quand un français est touché, le reste du peuple l’est aussi, qu’il soit juif, musulman, athée catholique ou bouddhiste. Il n’y a pas de religion l’une contre l’autre, nous sommes tous nés au sein d’une démocratie, laissons la nous conduire dans les pas du combat et de la solidarité.
Ensemble, fort et solidaire.

To the communion of a nation, united by the diversity.
The events which touch us can be all different, all more or less bloody and frightening, but this events are them which gathers all of us at the same time. If the French capital dies in a vulgar and devastating apocalypse, you must remind that some countries aren’t savings at the same hour. Take our hands, gather our ideas, make this faith and this union fight these free violence. Don’t let our tears give them the victory. Their acts are the fruits of the extremism and extremism don’t have it place in our society, our humanity. They believe in a religion war, but what they defend is the fear, the violence and the frighteners. Don’t let them win on you, and fight armed by a smile, accompanied by a foreign friend, and protected by the blinding confidence in our bravery and our mutual aid. Don’t looking for empathy and compassion in the terrorist, cause there is not.
In memory of my neighbors, my friends, my colleagues, my French and foreign compatriots, to all of those who the life was taken in a minute of pure terror, to all of those who lived the worst the trauma and the dolor, be strong, we are for you. When a French is touched, the rest of the nation is also, even if they are Jews, Muslims, Atheist, Catholics or Buddhists. There is not religion against an other one, we are all born in a democracy, let’s it drive us in the step of the fight and the solidarity.
